Skelius Mortalis, your new connection, posted: Layoffs in the games industry. Yeah, nothing new. I remember how shocking it was 4-5 years ago, now it's a weekly thing. Join the club. It sucks. But honestly, this industry needs a reset, the live service slop, the woke studios, the incompetent leadership, the expensive locations for studios combined with extremely underperforming games that tell the players what to think instead of building games that they want to play... the DEI horror that still keeps draining money. Layoffs are inevitable. The faster it gets reset, the better. More studios will rise, devs will either embrace gamers again and make great new games, I'm optimistic, but to get there there will be a purge and it's been a long time coming, and there will be a lot of collateral damage.
